A boy Elvis in Kenya, EBGYM Hollabrunn

  • "More cakes more help"- with this motto, the hard working students from class 4A of the EBGYM Hollabrunn were baking sweets at the weekend. They produces delicious colourful cakes and sold them on the next day for their partnership child Elvis. Since the first form, the current 4A together with her headteacher Mag. Sabine Rohrer and their cooperation class 8C, has been supporting a 13-year-old boy from Kenya, enabling him to attend the Kilifi Vonwald school with a school fee of 25 Euros per month. Gabriela Vonwald, a German woman, had built the school after buying a proberty in the Kenyan village Kilifi in 2008 and started the constructions of the school building with her own funds (cf. www.harambee.at). Cakes for Elvis" will be sold every first Monday of the month. Further more, four more classes have agreed to support the project: the 8C, for November, the 1B for December, the 1A for January and the 1C for February. A big thank you in advance for the great willingness to the help from the pupils and their headteachers OstR. Mag. Verena Falschlehner, Mag. Karin Leeb, Mag. Christiane Lerch und Mag. Reinhard Schmid. (Sarah Kuttner, 4A)
