International Conference Playing „science”. The Multidimensional Approach of Science in Kindergarten Activities”.
On the 20th March 2019, the teachers from Kindergarten No. 3 Bistrita, Romania, together with 25 partners in the Erasmus+ KA2 project „Small Scientists Across Europe” project participants at the Fourth Learning, teaching and training mobility in Bistrița and 2 university professors from Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences were hosts of the International Conference „Playing „science”. The Multidimensional Approach of Science in Kindergarten Activities”.
Approximately 250 teachers from pre-school and other specialties participated at the plenary speeches given by Professor Ph.D. Habil. Ion ALBULESCU (Competences of scientific investigation, key competences for lifelong learning) and Associate professor Ph.D. Habil. Horatiu CATALANO from Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca (Science and "nescience" of play at the early ages), Dr. Maria NISTOR from the Didactic and Pedagogical Publishing House (The Contribution of the Didactic and Pedagogical Publishing House to Supporting the Values of Early Education) and the coordinators of the Erasmus+ KA2 project „Small Scientists Across Europe” (Streamlining the educational process by implementing the Erasmus + KA2 project "Small Scientists Across Europe" –project presentation).
Special guests and partners in the conference were Dr. Andras BARTA, director of Bistrita University Extension, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca; Ciprian CECLAN OPREA, Bistrita-Nasaud County Prefect, Bistrita Nasaud Prefect Institution; Zoltan DEAK, deputy general inspector, Crina CLAPOU, school inspector for early education, and Daniela HUDREA, school inspector for monitoring programs at the Bistrita-Nasaud County School Inspectorate.
A special section of the conference consisted in launching the set of 4 books with scientific experiments on Earth, Air, Water and Fire created within the Erasmus+ KA2 project „Small Scientists Across Europe” and 2 books for teachers who are interested in the full exploitation of the game in didactic activities carried out in the institutional and non-institutional educational environment: Pedagogy of play and play activities (by Horaţiu Catalano and Ion Albulescu) and Didactics of games (by Horaţiu Catalano and Ion Albulescu), both published by the Didactic and Pedagogical Publishing House.
The international conference ended with a visit to the "Little Scientists" plastic art exhibition which showed art work created by preschool and school children guided by the teachers participating in the conference.
