THE SCHOOL: CHARACTERISTICS AND ENVIRONMENT

1.LOCATION

The Public School San Antonio located in La Hoya, is a center dependent of the Counseling of Culture, Education and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and attached to the Dirección Territorial de Alicante.
The educative stages taught are Maternal Education and Primary Education. It has double line and line in Valencian.

2.PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

FEATURES OF THE ENVIRONMENT: La Hoya has a surface approximate of 1.1000. There is a population of around 2.300 inhabitants. This urban place is constantly growing due to the construction of flats and bungalows during the last years. This fact encourages many families of Elche city to move to La Hoya and choose it as their residence. The Valencian is the most used language for communication.
This area is provided with all basic services that a small community can offer: supermarkets, grocery shops and 24h shops, several banks, video-club, drugstore, church and some cafés, among many other shops. But still their citizens go to Elche when they need any thing they can’t find in la Hoya, for example cinema, clothe shops, hospital…etc.
We also receive students from other small rural areas of the surrounding like Daimés and Derramador which makes a total of around 3.200 inhabitants.

SITUATION AND LOCATION:
The local School San Antonio La Hoya is located in the small rural area (hamlet) of La Hoya that belongs to Elche. This School is divided in two buildings and it carry out his functions by communicating by telephone. One of the buildings is the Maternal School and the other is the Primary School where the Director has the office and manages all the issues related to the School.
