Pietro in The Netherlands

  • I have no words for describing this wonderful experience.
At first, I was really scared because I had to live in a different country, in a different family for three months, three months far away from my home, my friends and my family, but at the end of this three months I wouldn’t come back home.
During this time I met beautiful friends, kind teachers and a very hospitable family. I had a beautiful relationship with my host family and also with some of my classmates.

During this period I visited a lot of things, for example, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and I did things that I’ve never done in Italy like ice skating and skiing, things that I really enjoyed.
I think that the most difficult part of this experience was adapting myself to a different way of life, for example, the different school system but also the different schedule of the day.

I really liked to go to school with the bike and the cordiality of the people, but I also enjoyed some typical food like the stroopwafels (I think the thing that I’m missing more).

Now that I’m back in Italy I’m missing a lot of the Netherlands but I’m also very happy because I’m with my family and with my friends now.
I want to say to everyone that has the opportunity of doing this to do it because it changes you a lot and also because it’s a very good opportunity for improving your English: talking everyday English it’s different that learning it at school.
