European Day of Languages 2018

  • On the 26th September we celebrated the European Day of Languages. Several activities were carried out.

The students in the 7th grade class painted t-shirts with the expression "Talk to me!" translated into several languages spoken in Europe.

The secondary students held a debate on the importance of learning foreign languages throughout their lives and on linguistic diversity in Europe.

After that, hey were asked to create a poster about the celebration of the European Day of Languages and the linguistic diversity in Europea. In the end, they had to translate expressions like "Hello!" and "I love you!".

In the afternoon, our school hosted the "eTwinning School Label" ceremony in the Northern Region, an event attended by directors and teachers from 21 schools and 2 eTwinning Ambassadors.

After having obtained the European Quality Label for the excellent work on the project "Reporteros Sin Fronteras" (reporters without frontiers - 2016/2017) and the National Quality Label in the projects "Español - más que aprender una lengua" (Spanish - More than learning a language 2017/2018), "Iberian Christmas" (2017-2018) and "Todos contra el acoso escolar" (All against bullying - 2017-2018), The work carried out on these projects and activities through the eTwinning platform also led to the awarding of the" eTwinning School 2018-2019" label, which was the only school in the county to receive such a distinction.

The eTwinning School Label is related to eTwinning's willingness to recognize and evaluate the involvement, commitment, and dedication of the school, teacher teams, and leaders.

This award acknowledged the Group's work as a leader in the areas of digital and eSafety practices and the use of innovative and creative approaches, representing a great achievement for the entire eTwinning team.
