MODULE 3- 500 YEARS OF THE REFORMATION

  • Without Reformation, the world would be different in many ways.

It is true that Reformation is mostly linked to religious issues. Except for that field, however, it led to the rise of Humanity, as people were to rediscover classical values that placed human beings at the cente of the world once more. Reacting to staunch theological views, Reformation can be described as a movement for religious freedoms and democracy, which eventually led to the Enlightenment.

It has been 500 years since Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg.Today, we should think about whether there is need to react against views that keep the idea of a united Europe a distant dream. Should we try and think for ourselves and question formulated beliefs?

What theses would you nail at the centre of Europe if you had the chance? What would you question? What would you like to be different for you and future generations?

    You could think about:

    • Education in Europe today
    • Youth unemployment
    • Health care
    • Transportation
    • Terrorist attacks
