    And here are some lovely lakes that we have in Slovakia. Of course we have many MANY of them but for a matter of interest we picked these:

    Lake Beňatina - The turquoise lake was created in the stone quarry. There was found a fossil of a fish that was 5 meters long, so the minig was stopped.

     

    Lake "Sea eye" (Morské oko) - The Sea eye in the protected area of ​​the Eastern Carpathians lies at an altitude of 618 m above sea level and a it is a national nature reservation with protected flora and fauna. It is the largest volcanic lake obstructed in Slovakia with an area of ​​13 ha.

     

     

    Crater (mini-lake) in Vyšné Ružbachy - Natural travertine lake - crater with thermal water is the largest of its kind in Slovakia. It has a diameter of 20 m and is 3 m deep. Its uniqueness arouses the interest of all visitors and passers-by. It is situated on top of travertine mass and since 1967 is a protected national monument.

     

     "Hincovo Mountain lake" (Veľké Hincovo pleso) - Hincovo Mountain Lake (pleso) is the largest and deepest pleso in Slovakia and its surface is usually covered by ice an average of 270 days a year. It has an area of ​​20.08 hectares, a depth of 53.7 meters and is situated at an altitude of 1946 above the sea level.
