Project work - step by step
November: Who we are? Where we are on the map of Europe?
To prepare online ppts, slideshows with pictures of our school, country, national symbols and of course...the picture with our students. You can use any free tools on the Internet. When you are ready, upload the presentation, there is no order for countries.
December: A discussion – What is wisdom?
Encourage young students to use modern technology( and Internet) to communicate. Involve students and teachers in an online discussion: “What is wisdom?” I will create separate walls for students and for teachers.
Symbols of wisdom: choosing a logo for the project.
Encourage students to make a research about the symbols of wisdom all around the world. Upload images with short descriptions. When we collect some symbols, we should vote for one that will become our logo for the project. I will include a wall for online voting.
January – March: Human wisdom in European legends, fables, myths and tales. Create an e-book and a pdf book with European legends(fables, myths, tales).
Each partner will present one national legend(myths, tale). Please write it in English and in your native language. Children will illustrate the legend.
April – May: Collecting proverbs and sayings. Make an endless string of wisdom, holding it(together with the legends, tales in a big treasure chest.
Involve older adult to share the wisdom of experience and passing on their values to younger generation. Organize a meeting with parents at school, invite teachers, headmasters, if possible. Students are encouraged to ask questions about the meening of proverbs and sayings.
Skype meetings for Easter.
Evaluation of the project:
Create a questionnaire for students and for parents. Summarize the results.
November - May: During the project: Wise Owl Reading Clubs
May-June: a common website.
Final work:
1. It’s a good idea to ask children to write the partners’ proverbs and draw pictures. Make a board with proverbs or small cards, prepared by students themselves. Take pictures and upload in the page PROVERBS. It is important for the evaluation of the project by our National Agencies.
2. For the 10th eTwinning anniversary we can choose between some activities proposed by eTwinning or make something else: a school exhibition, flying balloons, logo. A few pictures uploaded in our page and a short text with descriptions are enough.
3. For evaluating the project I have prepared questions for students and for teachers.
In the first question students must choose between three faces and upload one on the padlet wall. There are two ways for doing this activity. I have upload the images in the project, images. Download the pictures on your computer and let the children upload one image by themselves(if they are big enough to do it). My children can do it. The second way is to ask them, count the number of smiling, sleeping …faces and upload the correct number according to the number of children in your class. Every child should vote. Next questions are easy to vote. Choose one answer, then press submit. Voting will be open until the end of May.
For teachers voting is the same: with a few questions.
At the end of May, I am going to show you the results.
4. I need a word document with your PROVERBS and TALES(LEGENDS), uploaded in your school folders, in order to create a common book.
5. It is good to award the student for the books that they have read during the project. I asked the to make a list of books and next to each book the number of pages of a book. At the end of MayI will count the pages. I think that is good to have international winners: let"s share our result in the class, our winners and give the International awards. (a little bit different certificates).
6. Let’s make more Skype calls on May(we are going to finish school at the end of May).
7. Some of our partners did not do anything during this school year. If we have empty folders, we will not get any Quality label. You, who read this note, work hard: Danka, Cira, Francesca, Rangel, Marina, Maria and I. We are the real partners. I can not fail you for the people that do nothing. I am really thinking to remove them from the project.
