Activities: science - „The story of bread – the transformation of the wheat grain until getting the bread" - conversation based on intuitive support, math activty "Little bakers"- ICT-based numbering activity, preparing bread, visiting the Bread Factory, storytelling activity "Peter and the bread", preparing healthy digestive biscuits, children's songs, modelling bread dough.

We baked a specific type of bread, called Christopsomo, which means Christ's bread.

We learned about the process of baking bread thanks to a professional baker.

We started our subject reading a tale from Greek mythology "DEMETRA AND PERSEPHONE". Demetra was suppossed to be the goddess of agriculture and her symbol was the wheats. The tale explains the interchange of seasons.
We also had the chance to watcth a puppet show with that plot! It was amazing!!
We observed grains and learned their names and their nutritional value
We watced copies of Van Cogh paintings about wheat and paintings of Theofilos, famous Greek painter.
Then we made 2 artcrafts with the life circle of the wheat
We made pop corn and we really enjoyed it with all our senses!!
Children noticed the pair of scales in Theofilos painting, so we made our measurements!(maths)
One of our children's mother, made us a delicious traditional greek soup "trahanas" which is made of sour milk and flour
We visited the local baker's shop where we discovered how the bread is made
and finally we created our own baker's hats
