  • Treasure Heritage

    Wieliczka salt mines (Marilou)

The salt mines of Wieliczka, near Krakow are very important for the city. Without the mines, the city would be poor and not as thriving as it is now, so it's definately a treasure.

Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow - Tine Vanherck

This theatre is already on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and it should definitely stay like that.
This theatre is related to the discovery of Polish Romantic drama and that's why it's very important.
This theatre is also a really beautiful building and that's another reason to visit it!
Later in the evening, we passed by the theatre and it had a lot of beautiful lights (see picture).

    Mariacki church (Lore Maes)

I chose this church because of the story around it. On every hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a trumpet signal—called the Hejnał mariacki—is played from the top of the taller of Saint Mary's two towers. The plaintive tune breaks off in mid-stream, to commemorate a famous 13th century trumpeter who was shot in the throat while sounding the alarm before a Mongol attack on the city.
