Paragraph about the school, its aims, age of students :

The collège de l’Europe is situated in Ardres, Northern France, about 15 kms from Calais, the port going to Dover .and about 60 km from the Belgian border.
In our school, there are about 650 students from age 11 to age 15. They can practise 3 different languages in European sections : English, German or Spanish, but also windsurfing. Our purpose is to help students succeed whatever their abilities.

Particular pedagogical approach to sustainable development (what you do at school in that particular area) :

Our school has been labelled eco-school and E3D school (sustainable school) for many years now. It also takes part to a competition for French schools, called Cube-S where each year schools have to find ways to reduce their consumption of electricity, gas, paper … and students work hard to find solutions. We have very good results in some areas. Our school has also been equipped with solar panels to reduce the electricity consumption.

Since 2014 now Year 9 students take part to a European project where they meet European partners to organize European negotiations about climate change and sustainable development.

Finally our school has been labelled « Blue School » in 2021 (school taking care of the ocean) thanks to our European project.
