LECTURE "US AND THE WORLD" GIVEN BY A PROFESSOR OF UNIVERSIDADE DO ALGARVE [ALGARVE UNIVERSITY]
PALESTRA "NÓS E O MUNDO" NO ÂMBITO DE ATIVIDADES ENQUADRADAS NO PROJECTO ERASMUS+ KA2 "IN A FAR AWAY LAND: REFUGEE CHILDREN"
No dia 21 de Fevereiro de 2017 decorreu no auditório da nossa Escola a palestra "Nós e o Mundo" no âmbito de atividades enquadradas no projecto Erasmus+ KA2 "In a far away land: refugee children", onde foram discutidos os direitos humanos, alterações políticas, económicas e sociais que o mundo e em particular a Europa tem sofrido nos últimos tempos, culminando com a crise dos refugiados.
A primeira parte da palestra feita pela Dra. Anabela Afonso, chefe de Gabinete do Reitor da Universidade do Algarve, tendo-se seguido o testemunho de Mohamed Tarek Said, estudante sírio de Ciências Farmacêuticas na UAlg, colocado ao abrigo da Plataforma Global de Assistência Académica de Emergência a Estudantes Sírios do ex-Presidente da Republica Jorge Sampaio, que nos relatou a sua experiência de vida enquanto refugiado. Tarek saiu da Síria há três anos, quando o conflito armado se tornou mais grave, deslocando-se para a Turquia com a sua família, onde terminou o ensino secundário. Aí, por intermédio de um primo que tinha conhecimento do programa de Jorge Sampaio, resolveu candidatar-se e vir estudar para Portugal.

We also join the iniciative - What If it were me? What´s in my bag?
The Refugee Support Platform (RAP), in collaboration with the General-Directorate for Education, the High Commissioner for Migration, I.P. (ACM, I.P.) and the National Youth Council are preparing to launch "What if it were me? Backpacking and Going, "an initiative to raise awareness among children and young people about the difficulties refugees are facing in order to escape the war, seeking humanitarian protection.
At school we had the presence of representants of the High Commissioner for Migrations that explain the students the present situation and showed them the Welcome Kit each refugee receives.
