2 National Book Day in Greece (April 2nd)

3 GREEN GRAINE DAY (GREEN SEEDS DAY) in front of our arrondissement Town Hall (Paris 14th)

Saturday, there was a Green Graine Day at our Town House : a day to show the importance of plants in the city, and of using recycled materials too.

First graders (CPC and CPD) from our school crafted letters "VERT" (green) with empty milk and juice cartons, planted spring flowers in it (primroses), and made gardening tags with colors names on them. They made posters too to present their eTwinning project.

Alas, our letters were not very readable, the plants were too healthy and had large leaves that went over the letters borders. But we didn't want to cut them.

Other kids from our school used very unusual containers to plant their flowers : have a look, it's fun !

Here some of our favorite days, by Mrs Ducamus Parisian first graders :

    LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR ALPHABET
Where we can learn things about alphabets

1 Saints Cyril and Methodius created the Bulgarian alphabet - the Cyrilic (drawing: Yosif Baldziyski, Hristo Smirnenski Primary School, Bulgaria)

2 The kids from Kindergarten "Zvanche", Pleven, Bulgaria learned interesting facts about bulgarian language.

Then we visited the regional library for more interesting information.

3  Here is what we learned about our letters :

The French magazine has audio in it. You just have to click (twice) on the arrows to listen to the pupils.

Here is the Bulgarian alphabet song sung by Mrs Ducamus pupils,

thanks to our pianist and music teacher Virginie Forys

who had a lot to do for pupils not to sing as bad as their teacher ;o)

We are working on the letters, but couldn't understand the words. We decided then to change a little the text. Here is what we actually sing :

Here is the Armenian Alphabet Song, sung by CPD first graders. And a "karaoke" pptx.

      Wave  MP3     PPTX

Erratum : Well well, we just missed a point : we're not singing 36 letters, we have 39 of them in this song...

We'll try to check sooner, next time, before we sing...

Dear Partner my students from Armenia sang the French alphabet song.

Well done ! We loved to hear you !

    hear, they're not ready yet...

French first graders (CPD) made some clay letters with their Art teacher, Mr Meunier.

Very beautiful letters and  presentation !

Do you think your pupils could write my pupils' names in armenian ? I can send a list. I think they'd love it. I'de like it for myself too, to be honest. ;o) We can do that with your pupils names, but I'm afraid they already know latin letters...
