GREECE
The Palace of Knossos is the largest and most spectacular of all the Minoan palatial centers, covering an area of 20,000 sqm. The palace had many floors, it was built of ashlars blocks and its walls were decorated with splendid frescoes, mostly representing religious ceremonies.
LITHUANIA
- St. Anne's Church (Šv. Onos bažnyčia)
- Vilnius Old Town, Lithuania
- It is a prominent example of both Flamboyant Gothic and Brick Gothic Styles. The first church was constructed of wood and was built in 1500. It was built in the honour of Anna, Grand Duchess of Lithuania, the first wife of Vytautas the Great.
According to a well-known legend, Emperor Napoleon, after seeing the church during the Franco-Russian War in 1812, expressed a wish to carry the church home with him to Paris "in the palm of his hand".
The church enabled the Old Town to be included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
SPAIN
