Blue Team: Copyright

  • The term "copyright" includes that set of rights and faculties that belong to the author of an intellectual work and that allow him to claim paternity and to use the creation economically through its reproduction, distribution and dissemination.

    The intellectual work that it protects can be of a creative nature belonging to literature, music, science, figurative arts, architecture, theater and cinematography whatever the manner or form of expression.

    The "copyright" essentially performs a function of protection for the authors of creative and original content on works protected by law.

    Protection is intended to protect the rights of:

    • economic use of the work;
    • personality of the author

    The European Union protects copyright with common legislation.

    Creative Commons licenses on copyright and tools create a balance within the traditional "All Rights Reserved" environment that copyright laws create.

    Do you know anybody who had to face "copyright" problems? Have you ever used unauthorized material? How do you think you can avoid the problem of unauthorized use of material produced by others?

    Please discuss this problem with your team mates here and come up with up to 10 questions for a survey to understand what we can do to fight this phenomenon and raise awareness about it.
