    • According to myth he is Longinus and Mokoš tenth son, kidnapped by God Veles when he was born, for the new year and taken to the underworld, where he grew up with Veles daughter. As soon as he become a strong young man, (for the god of vegetation is very short time), he leaves Veles's underground in damp roots of the World Tree, and wants to get married , but the woman has to be same as him (they have to be equal).Son of the the supreme God of one world is only equal daughter of the supreme god of another world. And so he starts a journey to Perun's court. And who came to his father, who does not know his father, he must pass all the tree, therefore, and the world of men and the world of animals placed in his tree crown. His arrival in our world brings spring - new strength, rebirth of vegetation and the joy of life.

                 TRADITIONS

    • There is a similarity between the Belarusian folk customs and Jari Croatian St. George processions and songs. The memory of Jari preserved in Belarus spring rituals in which the main character, a girl dressed in white with flowers in her hair, riding on a white horse. In Belarus the people Jari represented as a young man with a white cape riding a white horse and wearing a crown of spring flowers. In his right hand holding a man's head, and left him in the ears.
