Interactive or collaborative activities between partners classes ?

First we could share our activities into two groups : the interactives ones and the collaboratives ones. We could use these definitions :

Interactive activity : encourage students to interact with each other and with the subject matter but not rise to the level of collaboration.

Collaborative activity : students must share knowledge and work together in pursuit of a common goal, of a common production

To do this assessment we use the evaluation grids (cf. page 6.3 evaluation grids)

For all these collaborative activities, the type of collaboration is the same, the level is the same.

- All the classes involved worked together to do this production

- We shared responsabilities : some partners have to make propose an experiment or prototype and other have to make the conclusions. Or some partners have to propose a recipe (with the quatities of ingredients) and others have to calculate the quantities to make the recipe for all the partners.

- But we didn't make substantive decisions together

So we think that the level of collaboration is 2.

Challenge A

- All the classes involved worked together to do this production

- We shared responsabilities : some partners have to build a monument of their partner country, others have to recognize it and add information about it, they need to vote for the monument they prefer to make a logo of the project and for the cover page

- We made substantive decisions together : they need to vote for the monument they prefer to make a logo of the project and for the cover page

- The partners works were interdependant : they have to make comments about the monuments chosen by partners.

So we think that the level of collaboration is 5.
