Our teacher shared with us some stories from her visit to the town of Chiprovtsi famous for the carpet weaving tradition there. 

She told us how wool is dyed with natural herbal colourings. Natural colourings are extracted from the roots, leaves and pettals of herbs and flowers. They are then soaked in hot water into which wool is dipped. 

We could see various carpets displlayed at the museum of Chiprovtsi carpets.
