STEP IN AND SHAPE YOUR FUTURE

    Introduction of partners

    1. Mural of Feelings for the Environment

All students draw something that showcases the environmental issues in our planet. They post it on a padlet and write their name, age and three words that express their feelings towards the environment.

Students from the partner country read the Padlet and choose three profiles. They write their name and age and express their own feelings in three words.

    2. Cloud of Feelings for the Environment

Creation of a cooperative cloud of feelings for the environment by means of AnswerGarden.

                 3. Online Meeting

Students introduce each other and express their feelings and fears about the future of the planet.

                1. Video about the environment

                2. Questions and answers

                3. Kahoot Game

The following topics will be divided so that students can work on them in national groups. They will search for information and create short collaborative videos (eg. Moviemaker, max.3 minutes). Also, they will create three questions for each video. Everything will be posted on Twinspace and the collaborative questionnaire (Kahoot) will be answered by all students in order to check their understanding of the topics.

    Possible topics to work on:

    -Causes of Global Warming

    -Environmental disasters caused by humans

    -Air pollution

    -Soil pollution

    -Water pollution

    -Noise pollution

    -Endangered species

    -Overpopulation and sustainable development

    -Genetically-modified products

    -The environmental impact of technology

    -Renewable energy sources

-Resources consumption, natural resources, non renewable resources

-Relation of the coronavirus crisis with the Environment

-How fairtrade protects both people and planet

-The earth’s physical and biological systems

    Communication

    Online Meeting

Students brainstorm ideas of what can be done towards a greener planet.  Possible topics:

    -recycling

    -save water/energy

    -waste prevention and composting

    -alternative lifestyles, eating habits

    -being activists

    -etc.

International groups will be created and aspects to be worked on will be distributed.

    Collaboration

               1. Infosheet “How can we step in and shape our future?”

Each group will work on a different aspect and each group will create an infosheet or poster (to be shared on Twinspace) with easy steps all of us can take. Each group will present their work in an online meeting.

               2. Collaborative writing of a story for children.

Students pretend they are visitors from outer space, viewing life on Earth for the first time. By describing, in details, they explore the incredible diversity of life on earth and how plants and animals are suffering due to the action of humans.

    Evaluation and Assessment

The project will be evaluated throughout the different stages and by means of all activities. Students will have feedback whenever they communicate and cooperate with each other in order to check if they have achieved their objectives.

Teachers will evaluate their oral skills (online meetings, films) as well as their written skills (texts and questionnaires of the films, infosheets, stories).

Apart from that, transversal skills like creativity, communication, collaboration, multiperspectivity, critical thinking and also foreign language and ICT skills will be evaluated by the teachers.

    Follow up

    Evaluation

After the project, students will be asked to give their feedback. They should write about:

    -their experience regarding social isolation and distant learning;

-positive and negative aspects of learning through eTwinning.

    Dissemination

The whole project (objectives, activities, timeline and results) will be available on Twinspace.

Information about the project will be shared on the participating schools’ media (website, newsletter and social media).

After the social isolation when schools reopen students will present their ideas to the school community in a physical exhibition and also in a public presentation in the schools’ auditoriums.
