Here we will share good practices in using new technologies and web tools in our classrooms.
PREZI is a very nice web tool allowing to create very nice presentations as alternative to the traditional PowerPoint presentations. It is a visual learning tool which allows you to create maps of texts, images, videos, graphics, etc… and present them in a very effective way.
Here below a Prezi created by Italian students to present the typical Italian food: Pasta.

Another free web tool we currently use in our classrooms is ISSUU, a free service that allows students to upload PDF, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files to create "paperless" online magazines. Here you can see how we have used Issuu in our classroom for studying an English book: The Snail and the Whale. After reading the book, students have been asked to find the sentences in the book describing the places visited by the two characters and then to find out real places in the world corresponding to the description in the book. Here is the result of their work:
We have used Storymap, a free online tool which is useful to tell stories on the web that highlight the locations os a series of events.
We have created an interactive map with a virtual tour around the main monuments and historical buildings of some European cities.
