DEBATING CONTEST

We started a debating contest 4 years ago in our school. The school winning team debates with other schools of the region and the final winning team goes and debates in Strasbourg with other European teams. The subjects are about democracy and what it means to be a European citizen. Students are either FOR or AGAINST and have 20 minutes with the 3 other members of their team to find arguments.

You can find 2 files in 'documents': one with useful phrases to debate. Another one with the grid we use to mark the pupils (level B1 or B2).

Here were our topics in relation to our work on the migrant crisis:

' There is not enough solidarity today'

'The internet is a good tool to create soldarity'

'Everybody should give its time to work in an NGO to help people in need'.
