  • Agrupamento de Escolas de Santo André (AESA) is situated in the city of Barreiro, in front of Lisbon, in the south side of Tagus river AESA is a big, diverse and multicultural school that consists of four schools with pre-primary (ages 4/5), primary level (ages 5-9),elementary+lower secondary level (ages 10-14), general high secondary level+professional/VET courses (ages 15-19) and adult education in after labour time schedule There are 2300 students, 208 teachers and 72 administrative/operative staff It’s a multicultural schools. Many students are from African countries, Brasil, China, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Pakistan and others countries.There are also special needs students: 4 in pre-primary, 22 in primary, 36 in elementayr+lower secondary level and 26 in high secondary level+professional courses. This «melting pot» sometime creates discussions and behaviour problems, not only in classes but also in playground of schools.School had develop some strategies to prevent behaviour problems but this topic is weak point of our school. Students are more exposed to irregular behaviours and flooded with information as the same proportion to be able to respect the diferences of the others and understanding themselves at the same time Teachers have taken part in several European Projects and the staff is very eager to develop this kind of projects, which is the only possibility for some of their underprivileged students to meet people from other countries, get familiar with their culture and improve their foreign language skills and also teachers/students can develop new methodologies, share teaching approaches and work collaborativelly To be part of EU projects has deepened our EU spirit that has been turning our institution into a EU School. But the school need continuous improve their habilities, share knowledge, learning for future and get multiple skills to our school community. So, this project is very important for us to develop multiple skills, reading literacy, digital competences, cultural background, inclusivity and multilinguism for our students in several ages and also can bring a jumper foward in education. As well to prevent and manage with bullying, cyberbullying and inclusivity and early school leaving at different levels. Several teachers and other staff had been envolved in Erasmus+.We had finished two KA1 projects with high quality, had coordinated one KA2 and cooperated in others KA2/KA229. Also we have eTwinning school label (2020-2021). Portuguese NA had awared the Project KA1 «Speach English, Reach Sucess» 2016-2018 (https://sers2016.wordpress.com/) because of developing good pratices. We have also the etwinning label (2019-2021) with the Project «Breaking Down Walls» (KA2) KEY PERSON: Rosário Santos, is an Art/Visual Communication Design Teacher and Projects Coordinator/Annual Activities Plan of AESA.She is an expert in graphic design, video edition and an eTwinning/Erasmus projects.
