Welcome to Primary School "Vladimir Nazor", Križevci, Croatia

We are from Križevci, Croatia, a town in Koprivnica-Križevci County, central Croatia. It is the oldest town in its county. Križevci is close to Zagreb, our capital.

There are about 690 pupils in our school. Primary school lasts for eight years in Croatia. Children start going to school at the age of 6 or 7. This is the web site of our school http://www.os-vnazor-kc.skole.hr/

Our lessons start at 8:00 am and finish at 2:00 pm when we go to school in the morning. Then we change our schedule and the following week we go to school in the afternoon from 2:00 pm to 7:05 pm. This is due to the lack of space because we do not have enough classrooms. A lot of schools have a similar schedule in Croatia. There is a canteen in our school so we can eat breakfast or dinner at school. We have fifteen minutes break for the meal and five minutes between the subjects.

We have Croatian, English, Maths, Art, Music, Science, History, Geography, PE, Technology which are obligatory and Religious Education, ICT and German or Italian which are optional subjects. We start learning English in the first grade. English is the most popular foreign language in Croatia. The second ones are Italian and German.
