Hey everybody,
Our school is called GLS De Zandloper. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday our school starts 8:35 and ends at 15:45. On Wednesday the school begins at 8:30 but ends at 12:05.
We have 2 small breaks (10:15-10:30 and 14:40-14:55) and a lunch break from 11:45 till 13:25.
We have 170 children in our school. We start from the 1st grade (6 years old) and end in the 6th grade (11-12 years old). In 1st grade they are with 26 pupils and we are in 6th grade with 19 students, not a big difference, isn’t it!
In Belgium the children can go to school from 2,5 years old. Here in our village we’ve got another school for them (2,5 years old till 6 years old). After that they come to our school, it is just the other side of the road.
Our subjects at school in the 6th grade are: math , PE (now we know what it means, thank you all for the information), Dutch, history, geography, nature and religion. We also learn the language French. It is our second language because in our country we speak Dutch and French. A small part of our country speaks German! We can’t choose subjects ourselves. We live in Sint-Pauwels , our province is called Oost-Vlaanderen and the capital city is called Gent. We look further into the project and hope that we have a lot of fun.
