Kutahya is located in western of Turkey with 570.000 citizens.It is popular with ceramics,tiles,thermal baths.Kutahya is historical and cultural city,lying on Porsuk river and represents ancient times with Aizonai Temple,Phrygian Valley and castles,so it is visited by a lot of tourists around the world.Doga schools were founded in 2002 and have 123 campuses in Turkey.Kutahya Doga School is a private school established in 2016 including ecology,drama club,chess class,Oxford street,science lab,art
and music class,sports hall,library,canteen,conference hall and dining hall,horse-riding
arena,ecology gardens,so the students learn nature by living.We have 70 teachers and 600 students at the school including kindergarden,primary,secondary and high school.Our education system is not only traditional but also international,our students get chance to establish an international connection.
As Doga Schools,we have 3214 projects and in Kutahya,there are 2 Erasmus+ projects which are still in progress.They are:”Enhancing Book Reading” and “Sharing European Values by National Films”,we have e- twinning European Quality Label.Furthermore, our school also has many national projects,named T- BA(Teenager for MBA)courses.Our students aim to become world citizens by gaining the ability to comprehend other cultures,meet children of different countries and share their own experiences.Our Campus is an environmentally friendly and technological that offers our students a happy,social,creative environment.That’s why we want to be a part of this project.Via this project,named Peer Education ,our schools aim to bring an international vision to our students and also raise their concordance between each other. Peer education brings with its unique motivation, cognitive benefits for participating peers.We have already benefited from this approach in our school.We have d teens(Doga teens at discussion)organisations with monthly topics,we organise the students to discuss their opinions.In Dteens discussions,we divide them into groups,we take better ones to lead the others.So,they can raise the others’ self-esteem,awaken their interest,enhance scholarly achievement.As a result,they get greater achievement and motivate themselves easily in cooperative learning and socializing.So,we aim:to develop our students’ communication and interpersonal skills,to recognise different cultural marks and analyse similarities and differences,to
improve their level of English and acquire basic level of other languages,to develop their learning skills We have a project team.Alper ERSOY is a principal of high school and financial manager of the project.Hatice YILMAZ who is an English teacher will be in charge of running the project in the school.She has Cambridge Certificate and attended English Workshop(peer education and self- consciousness).In case of leaving the project in the future,Ahmet EFEDAYI will be responsible for dissemination of it.
