The Vrije Basisschool* consists of 3 classes in Kindergarden and 6 classes in primary school. We have about 150 children (age 2,5 till 12) and 15 teachers. The school is located in Oudenaarde, a town in the Flemisch part of Belgium. The school is part of a group of 13 primary schools in Oudenaarde. In 2010 the school changed from a traditional school into a Montessorischool. Children from 3 different ages are working together in the same classroom.The official name is still Vrije  asisschool, but children and teachers chose a new name 'De Sterrenkijker'. Since a few years we are intro-oducing the KiVa-method in our school. In all classes teachers plan lessons on anti-bullying, social skills, group activities,...

Bullying is an international phenomen, and a lot of schools are trying to reduce it. We believe that we can contribute in this project with our KiVa-experiences. There is a lot of interest from the majority of the teachers to start a KA2 project. The whole team is willing to participate in several activities in the school.
