CEIP Francisco Arranz* is a State Infant-Primary school with a total of 450 students and 30 teachers. The place, with more than 60 years of educational history, is fully integrated in the neighborhood life and activities, with a very active role in city district contests and events. It is located in the south-west area of Madrid, students generally come from a low-medium social background, 10% of them immigrants or from ethnic gipsy minority.Open to new projects and ideas, the school currently takes part in: the project for social aid with the NGO “Ayuda en Acción”, the computerprogramming project GEN10S from Google.org, the program of friend schools of the Royal Music Theatre. The past 2 years has been collaborating in the Educational Program to stop and prevent school violence and bulling together with the local Police. Our educational system, based on a democratic and no religious ideal, is inclusive and tries to guarantee the same educational opportunities for all the society. We believe in the quality of public education and work together for excellence, keeping in mind the importance of new technologies, modern languages, emotional intelligence, social cooperation and integration of families and backgrounds.

We had been involved in two successful European projects during the past 15 years. Such a positive experience and feedback provided to our school community, makes us highly interested in participating in European projects of any kind.Participating in the actual project becomes a new opportunity to open our school to Europe, to bring the European Global thinking into our classrooms. An opportunity to discover new friends and new places, to establish firm relations, to foster adaptability and flexibility into our educational system, to study cultural and social differences, to enjoy social interactions and to enrich our Curriculum. Also an oportunity to continue working on the bulling prevention and convivence programme, we started years ago, under different perspectives enriched by the views of schools around Europe.

Our staff, used to work with European teachers and students, will be able to share procedures, ideas and methodologies as well as to collaborate in the design of new activities and experiences. Our school staff has a long training experience too.
