The Path of Water – SDGS 6 and 14

Italy is familiar with many challenges related to water scarcity and droughts but our region, Basilicata, is rich of water. We want to encourage an active involvement on this topic in order to maintain a high level of attention towards water issues, to preserve such a treasured possession. Proper water and sanitation is a key foundation for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. A careful management of this essential global resource is the only possible key feature for our future. However, at the current time, there is a waste of water in developed countries, bad remediation, deterioration of coastal waters which affect ecosystems and biodiversity not only in the areas often connected to water stress but also in the developed Europe. This project will ensure a shared vision, among all the partners, on this topic and this is the most effective way to create a real change of mind. This topic is included in all schools´ curriculums mainly in subjects science but because humans need water and water is around us that makes this topic an everyday matter.

Our goals are:

 To enhance students’ commitment on water and coastal safeguard.

To spread the value of water in different cultures and civilisations.

To learn about water sanitation, sea acidification and eutrophication

To deal with mineral water and thermal groundwater resources.

To approach a more accountable and mindful use of water.
