    It's time for a game

    Let's check what we know about people in need. Are you ready to play a game which was programmed by one of the Polish student Bartek? It's not so easy but we encourage you to take up this challenge!

    There are many people in the world who need our help. NGOs, solidarity campaigns, volunteers and many other actions can be organized to help people in need.

    And what about you and me? what can we do to help people we have near us?

    Solidarity campaigns for poor people

    Collaborate on household chores, because it's not just the mother who lives there but you too.

    Adults can give our blood to be used in hospitals for ill people who are in danger and need blood to be cured. I usually give 500 ml of my blood 3 times a year!

    Every year we join the nationwide charity campaign ‘Góra grosza’ and collect so called ‘grosz’ which is the smallest monetary unit in our country (1 zloty = 100 groszy). All the money goes to children living outside their families, e.g. in orphanages and foster families.

    During the school year we gather plastic caps that are recycled. The income from this charity–ecological action is donated to help disabled children. This action is under the patronage of the city guard. It’s very popular in Poland.

    'Noble package' (Szlachetna Paczka) is one of the most recognizable social programs in Poland. It is based on working with donors and volunteers who help families in need. Our teacher Marlena searches for a poor family from Poland. Then we sent this family food, necessary things and money which we had collected.

    The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) is one of the most popular campaigns in Poland and around the world thanks to which medical equipment for sick children is bought every year. We as volunteers also raise money in our area on that day.

    We sell Christmas cards just to collect money for sick and disabled children. That’s why we cooperate with the Sursum Corda Association.

    We make decorations on different occasions and sell them during the school fairs. We can buy needed things thanks to this money.
