Safer Internet day

  • February 11 - Safer Internet Day.
    Today, our Joniskio district Gasciunai basic  school's ninth-graders Kotryna, Vaida, Inga, Greta and seventh-grader Akvilė spoke about current digital challenges and promoted the safe use of the Internet and digital technologies.
    Safer Internet Day is an initiative mentioned in many parts of the world that has become an important event on the information literacy calendar. Launched by the EU SafeBorders initiative in 2004, Safer Internet Day is now being celebrated in 150 countries around the world.

    To mentioning "Safer Internet Day", our oldest students prepared lessons for beginners.

    Students in grades 5-10 tried the virtual escape room-game "Stop Cyberbullying!"

    Throughout this Safer Internet Week in classroom, there will be conversations and discussions about potential dangers online.

    Safer Internet Day is being celebrated for the 19th time in many parts of the world to promote safer and more responsible use of the Internet and digital technologies, especially for children and young people.
