    Martinique

Collège Aime Césaire de Basse Pointe

Our school is north of Martinique, in the city of Basse-Pointe. It receives pupils of neighbouring cities (Grand Rivière, Macouba, Ajoupa Bouillon and Lorrain). It's about one hour away from Fort de France.
In our school we have pupils with particular needs. We are a multidisciplinary secondary school where our maternal language, “ créole” and our regional culture can be studied. Latin can be studied in our school. Pupils learn spanish and english as foreign languages.

Our school is in the habit of taking part in international programmes like eTwinning.
We previously had a Comenius project where we were partner schools with Ireland: “Building a bridge between two islands” (2004-2006). We have had projects with caribbean schools too. Our pupils are happy to welcome students from the other partners.

In our school there is a specific teacher for european and international relationships. One of her missions is to help others teachers in differents projets.
In september 2018 we have managed a project against obesity with all the pupils who are 12. Activities like photo-expression, breakfirst preparation, hikes, healthy routes ...were organized. Every december in our school we organize a cross.

Many pupils in our school belong to an underprivileged socio cultural class.
This project is a chance for them to know others cultures, a chance to open…

Here you can find Castle of Almourol. It is a medieval military monument of the XII century rebuilt by the Templars to defend the territory during the Christian conquered.

This history is related to nearby city Tomar (UNESCO World Heritage Site), constructed by a grand master of the Knights Templar in the late 12th. Tomar is one of Portugal’s historical jewels and more significantly was the last Templar town to be commissioned for construction. This old town was especially important in the 15th century when it was a centre of Portuguese overseas expansion.

    7th Gymnasium of Heraklion

Our school, the 7th Lower Secondary (“Gymnasium”) School of Heraklion, is located on the outskirts of the city of Heraklion, in a neighborhood called Nea Alatsata. It was founded in 1979 and relocated to a newly constructed building in 2002. The education provided by our school is compulsory and represents the final part of the national nine – year compulsory education system.
Our school community consists of 35 teachers and 378 students (12 – 15 years old) from surrounding city neighborhoods. A psychologist and a social worker are also present at school once or twice a week, in order to provide support for students, parents and teachers if needed.
Teachers focus, not only on providing the necessary subject specific knowledge required by the national curriculum, but also on “creating” active students able to think critically and cope with future life challenges. In order to help meet these goals, students are encouraged to get involved in various projects (eTwinning, environmental awareness etc.) every year.
Starting from this school year, we are participating in a two - year Erasmus KA2 project for the first time in our school history.
