Mathematics Day

  • Mathematics Day

    POLAND

March 17, 2022 we celebrated Mathematics Day in our school.

Almost one hundred students from grades II-VIII took part in the Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition faced tasks that required cleverness, logical thinking and numeracy. Mathematical curiosities were prepared in the form of posters.

During the breaks students could build a tangram, cubes, mathematical dominoes or made building of blocks.

During the lessons, students played the multiplication table, solved problems from “Matlandia”, arranged cubes, tangrams and built models of spatial solids.

Lessons passed quickly and were interesting for students and teachers. It turns out that you can learn a lot while having fun!

In our school, we have chosen the last Friday of this course to celebrate "Mathematics Day".

Each teacher has prepared different activities adapted to their groups to develop during the morning:

    - The infant classes have been divided into corners through which the little ones went to carry out math activities.

    - In first and second Primary they have prepared workshops: Tangram, Beebots to order the planets, dominoes of hours, giant parcheesi, numerical balance, decompositions....

    - In third and fourth Primary they have done a mathematical gymkhana around the whole school and they have played chess and dominoes.

    - The fifth graders have set up a supermarket where they could buy different products to apply percentages, prices...

    - The oldest of the school have used the tablets to solve a mathematical escape room.
