    PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP: DIPTYCH

German and Spanish students cooperate in a photography workshop

Last 19th March 2021, students of 1st YEAR HIGH-SCHOOL OF ART in José Mª Infantes in Utrera (Spain) and students of KLASSE 10 in three different high schools in Soest (Germany) restarted a photography project. Unfortunately, the national quarentine in 2020 made a pause in our activities. Now we keep on going!! Students will work together to create a diptych that represents the union between the two cultures.

In a big eTwinning EVENT, 44 students in mixed groups met, talked about themselves, their hobbies and how the pandemic has affected their lives; they also learned how to use eTwinning, a European Education Site; they made decisions about how to organize the project and practiced English and Spanish. The conversations were fluent, with even better linguistic competence than in ordinary lesson, which shows the value of these exchange activities.

Due to sanitary restrictions in both countries, in order to keep social distance, half the students took part from home. Fortunately, from the beginning of the Erasmus Project in 2019, students and teachers have been learning how to use eTwinning. In this time of COVID 19 we can highlight its worth as a tool for communication and cooperation.

In Utrera, we completed the activity with a PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR. Many students come from other towns (Los Molares, El Coronil, Los Palacios, Marchena, Las Cabezas, Morón, Marismillas, La Puebla…) and do not know Utrera. They had the oportunity to sightsee the town and make some pictures. Students from Utrera were their tour guides.

We would like to thank the teachers who helped to carry out the activity. Elvira Digón (Art), Ricardo M. Pueyo (Art), Antonio Fernández (Philosophy), José Galán (PE).
