what is the situation and how we behave to food, food consumption

    sustainability by Alice

Everyone today knoe that the world we live in could possibly ends soon orn later.
I whatched many videos and I personally educated myself to the sustainability, tryng to reduce my wastes.
At school we had the chance to see a video about the sustenibility history, I have learnt many things even if I knew something already.
I believe that we all are the reason why the planet is now dertroyed.
Buying new objects, chlothes and processed food everyday, we are increasing the pollution and the disrepair.
I am very intrested in sustenible fashon, and I usually buy brands that have a green history and production.
What I try to do is even pay attention in the gorcery store, buyng the foods that have the less plastic in the packaging and that are as close as possible.

    Unhealty competitiveness

The video "Why is clothing to cheap" talks about why clothing are sold at a "low" price. This happens mainly to increase the competitiveness between the different brands, that to get to lower the selling price they decide to move their productive activity to poor areas. This situation is negative for the workers in the area where the company is relocated, because they are exploited and forced to work in very bad conditions for many hours receving a minimum wage. Fortunately, there are people and organizations that take care of and protect these workers. We too can improve this situation by trying to avoid buying from sites and stores that sell their products at an excessively low price , because behind these sale there are exploited people.

SUSTAIN THE SUSTAINABLE! by Antonello and Maria Pia

I think the video about sustainable consuption is the most important. In the world, infact, there are 1 bilion people hungry and another 1 bilion undernourished and this is a very negative condition of disparity. On the earth,1% of inhabitants detain the 50% of money! There is a 2030 target to give more education about the sustainable consuption of water and oil. There are multiple ways, for example to don’t use dangerous fertlizers.Whit the collaboration of all of us,the world will become better!

    SUSTAINABLE EXPLAINED

    by Sara L.

    Sustainable Consumption

this video speaks about sustainable consumption. It says that the rich countries waste a lot of food while poor countries do not have enough.

In my house we usually waste a lot of food and we buy a lot of clothes.
This makes me feel sad and I will try to be more aware when I go shopping I will also tell my parents to be careful.

I often do my shopping on Internet.

    WHY IS CLOTHING SO CHEAP?
Cloth are produced in many poor countries and this provided work for people with necessity. However companies want to produce cloth as cheap as possible, ignoring the workers rights and lowering the importance of environment.
The collaboration with foreign countries can provide a better general life for the poor countries, but sadly there are areas the rich keep the wealth to themself, living the poore ones a side. Thats called selfishness
Thankfully there are some organization that fights ineequality and aim to preserve workers rights. As a consumer you have the oportunity so think about consequences you consuption has on the ecnomy and the environment.

    Francesca Iamartino

Behind these clothes you don’t know who is behind this work.
Clothes are made by poor countries and they work every day to make them as cheap as possible, they work so hard and they get sick.

This causes problems in the environment and it lowers the workers rights.
For example, you buy a shirt and wear it only a few times, but before you realize it falls quickly out your fashion style. As the time passes, you toss the top to make space.

This seems harmless, but it’s not because it has a serious effect in our planet. Its cost is enourmous on the environment and for the people who work under it for years. And as consumer you should know the consequences.

    Why is clothing so cheap?

    Article written by Lara Silvestri

Why are your clothes so cheap?

Nowadays clothes from different types of brands are sold at a low price and this makes us more relieved. But why are those clothes so cheap?

The reason is simple and it's called "Fast Fashion" puts a huge amount of products on the market, so much that in the last 10 years, global clothing production has doubled, with a huge environmental impact. In addition, it has revolutionized ours way of shopping, pushing to buy compulsively.

After watching Explainitychannel's video about sustainability I finally know what living a sustainable life means. Sustainability is seen as a global concept and is based on 3 pillars:
    1)Environmental pillar, which focuses on:
    -climate protection
    -biodiversity
    -necessity of growing food naturally
-saving natural resources and finding friendly alternatives
    2)Economical pillar:
    -business and industry
-why people should buy produce that are in-season
    3)Social pillar:
    -better education and training
    -prosperity
    -equality
    -fighting poverty

Now that I am well informed, I know that by buying organic products, using my bicycle regularly and finding eco-friendly alternatives for natural resources, such as petrol, I can contribute and help this cause.

Sustainable Consumption, Onica Maria-Elena, Republic of Moldova, Lyceum Da Vinci

Nowadays, sustainability is seen as a global concept. Many people try to buy organic products, to recycle the garbage and to consume energy and food more rational. For example Peter, from Explainity's video - Sustainability explained - started to live a healthier life and tries to become more responsible. So, he started to buy organic products from local sellers, he goes to work by bike in order to save natural resources(petrol) and he uses wind power from windmills to save the energy. I think that, if all of us will start to live like Peter, we will live a healthier life, we will have clean and pure resources of water and we will save our planet! Don't be unconcerned, start the change from you!

Lorenza and Adelaide-- Summar about clothing so cheap, sustainable consumption

A lot of people found a work thanks to the production of clothing, in poor countries too. People try to produce clothes as cheaply as possible, to have competitive prices. There are organizations that fight inequality. As a consumer we have the opportunity to consider the consequences of our consumption. In our opinion we can contribute to a sustainable development.

    SUSTAINABILITY BY GIULIA

Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their needs. Sustainability is seen as a global concept.

For example the industry Giants want to produce clothings as cheap as possible, but this causes a lower priority on workers rights and environment to manufacture at competitive prices. Luckily there are some organizations that fight inequality and aim to preserve workers rights. As consumers, we have to consider the consequences that our consumption has on economy social relations and environment. In this way we contribute to a sustainable development goals. All Member States the United Nations did an environmental agreement. Some conventions require States to report informations related hazardous waste persistent organic pollutants. The problem is that not all states are providing this information.

We need to make sure that more states are implementing actionable steps and more importantly committing to that.

    SUSTAINABILITY by chiara

Sustainability is the ability to exist constantly.
The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars : economic, environmental and social, also known informally as profits, planet and people.
Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the future generations.

The economic pillar includes the business and industry,
the environmental pillar includes climate protection, protection of resources and biodiversity.
Also food should be organically: we can stop using pesticides and instead we must use natural resources .
The third pillar is the social element that includes better education and training opportunities, equal rights and prosperity for the whole of Humanity.
Therefore to be sustainable, we can use natural products, limit the use of water and plastic, don’t waste energy, we can be sustainable in shopping…

We can do whatever we want, just be aware.

Sustainability Explained (Francesca DM and Fiorina)

Nowadays everybody talks about sustainability but a very few people really know what it means.
The video we decided to watch (“Sustainability Explained”) talks about this topic that was already important in the XVIII century when people were already aware that we shouldn’t cut down more trees than the number that can replace them, discovering the basic principle of sustainability.
This concept is based on 3 pillars: Environment, Economy and Social consideration. The first one makes sure that everything that we use is eco-friendly and doesn’t harm nature in any way. The second one is based on industries and business, while the third one makes sure that society is going the right way and trying to fight poverty and assure equality.
We try to be eco-friendly as much as we can, by trying to reduce the amount of waste we produce, we realize that doing so is not that easy.

    SUSTAINABLE EXPLAINED by Maria Pia

Nowadays sustainability is seen as a global concept.

Sustainable Consumption is known as the use of services and related products which respond to basic needs and bring a better quality of life while minimizing the use of natural resources and toxic materials as well as emissions of waste and pollutants over the life cycle of the service or product so as not to jeopardize the needs of future generations."
Sustainable Consumption is the study of resource and energy use (domestic or otherwise).
In order to achieve sustainable consumption, two developments have to take place: it requires both an increase in the efficiency of consumption as well as a change in consumption patterns and reductions in consumption levels in industrialized countries as well as rich social classes in developing countries which have also a large ecological footprint and give examples for increasing middle classes in developing countries.

Sustainable consumption stands about improving resource and energy efficiency, sustainable foundation, and giving access to basic services, green and ethical jobs and a more immeasurable quality of life for all. It supports to manage overall growth strategies, reduce future financial and overcome underdevelopment.
Clear interest accruals from economic enterprises can improve by reducing resource use, degradation and pollution along the whole life cycle, while boosting the quality of life. There likewise requires to be a meaningful focus on working on the supply chain.
I enjoyed the video about food waste. Food waste stands for a remarkably severe dilemma in my country. Indeed, we managed to reverse the situation in our school, people outside the school don't apprehend how much pollution they generate.
Going shopping describes the overall big accountability concerning the environment. I genuinely like using cloth bags and withdraw plastic, therefore my favorite shops are the eco friendly ones.

    Consumerism

With this assignment I talked about the consumerism trough history, how people looked on consumerism and how can consumerism be good.
