IES Arjé, Spain

  • IES Arjé is a Secondary school in a town called Chauchina. This town is 15 km from Granada, a city in the South of Spain, it’s also near the airport.
Granada is famous for its well-known Muslim monument of the century XIII-XIV, “La Alhambra” (fortress, palaces and gardens), and also for the old city “El Albaizyn”. Granada is located at the skirt of the Sierra Nevada, a mountain range with the most southern ski resort in Europe and with the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula, “Mulhacen” (3478 m). In our school, there are students from 12 to 18 years old; the students participating in our Erasmus project are in the 1st and 2nd year of “ESO” (Secondary Education), so they are the youngest in the school. Of all the subjects they study, some are taught in English like Maths, Art, Physics and Chemistry or History. IES Arjé is a State school and has about 600 students. Our lessons are from 8:15 am to 2:45 pm, with a 30-minute break in the middle.
