Arrival of the French, Lithuanian and Polish participants in San Sebastian de los Reyes or Madrid
Monday 15 November 2021
9.00-10.15 Welcome ceremony at I.E.S Juan de Mairena in the Conference room
→ Spanish music and dancing show
→ Presentation of the Spanish school system with a quick test (mobile devices are required)
10.15-11.15 Ice breaking activities organised by Spanish students in the conference room
11.15-12.00 Guided tour of the school by the Spanish students in 4 separate groups with challenges to be completed
12.15-13.00 Lunch break at Alcalá restaurant (3 minutes walk from the school)
12.45-14.45 ETG activity Group session to carry on the online teamwork on the Quizzes
Students are divided into Category groups:
→ Economics Quiz Advanced Level (main building, room 302)
→ Mathematics Quiz Beginner Level (main building, room 303)
→ Spanish Foreign Language Quiz Beginner Level (main building, room 304)
→ French Foreign Language Quiz Advanced Level (main building, room 304)

9.00-13.00 Trip to Madrid city center from the school by public transport
Guided visits in English of the Prado museum and Madrid city center
There will be two groups:
→ 1st group: 4 teachers + 16 pupils (8 French + 4 Spanish + 4 Polish) start at 10 am in Plaza Mayor (meeting point: Felipe III and horse statue) for a city guided tour which finishes at 11.15 at the Prado museum. At 11.30 will start the guided Prado visit and will finish at 12.30.
→ 2nd group: 4 teachers + 16 pupils (6 Lithuanian + 4 Spanish + 6 Polish) start at 10.30 am with the guided Prado visit (meeting point at Prado: Murillo entrance) and will finish at 11.30. Then at 11.45 will start the Madrid guided visit up to Plaza Mayor and will finish at 13.15.
14.00-15.30 Lunch Break in Madrid. All participants will enjoy lunch together at Ginger restaurant, at Plaza del ángel.
It is recommended that all participants bring a drink and a snack to have in between activities, as there will be a short break of 15 minutes between the city and the museum tour.

8.10 Meeting point at IES Juan de Mairena
8.30 Trip to the city of Aranjuez by coach from the Spanish school
10.00-11.00 Visit of the Royal Palace and gardens of Aranjuez
Palace visit: At arrival, pupils are divided into mixed nationalities teams with different colour bracelets to later participate in the cultural and European heritage gymkhana across the city. (6-7 pupils per group). Challenges are related to Poland, Lithuania, France and Finland’s historical links with Spain. Immediately after, we will all have a guided visit of the Palace’s gardens.
11/11.20/11.30 Visit to the Palace interiors (not guided although you can download the app). (We will have to visit in 3 separate groups each of 14 people maximum). The visit will last 45 minutes approx. Please ask your students to bring a drink + snack to have after the visit.
12.30-13.45 Gymkhana: Pupils divided in 5 different teams will have to take the different challenges across the city. Maps will be provided.
14.00-15.00 Lunch break at Aranjuez. We will have a packed lunch including a soft drink + sandwich + chips.
16.00 Return to San Sebastian de los Reyes by coach

11.00 Break time: ask the students to bring a drink + snack to have during the break. In the school there is a cafeteria where they can buy sandwiches and drinks.
