Collaborative writing: Mystery of the stolen Mona Lisa - Instructions for the task

  • Dear partner,

what about writing a collaborative Maths Mystery?

At this link you can find the story of a Mystery about Leonardo Da Vinci (this year we celebrate 500 year after his death).

The Mona Lisa has been stolen and the Police needs help to find the culprit!

There are 20 suspects and 13 clues to be collected out to solve the mystery.

We will work in team. Each team consists of 13 teachers: you can find the composition of each team in the twinspace page “Mona Lisa Team Work”.

In each team, a clue has been assigned to each teacher. Each teacher has the task of creating some  Maths problems to be solved by its students to get the clue. You can have an idea on how to formulate the Maths problems looking at the examples in the twinspace, in the section Maths &... Mystery.

In this way, each teacher can use Maths problems suited for its students.

For each team a subpage in the twinspace has been created.

In its own subpage, each team has its own Maths Mystery version of the Mona Lisa Mystery, where each teacher can add the Maths problem he/she created, with the solutions found by his/her students. Write your name/school when you add something to the document.

When students get their own clue, they share it with the team partners, so that the mystery can be solved collaboratively.

Have fun! And do not hesitate to ask if you need help!
