OCTOBER: MATHS &...CODING

  • Let's take part in the Europe Code Week and try to earn the Certificate of Excellence in Coding Literacy from the European Commission!

Code Week 2019 is calling us!

Are you ready to take up the challenge?

From 5th to 20 th October we will bring the art of pixel into our class and thrill our students in the world of coding using this art form!

Each class will choose a pixel drawing and write the code with instructions to realize it. This pixel art code will be shared with the other partner’s class who will try to decode it and realize the drawing.

Then roles can be reverse, allowing everyone to draw and give instructions.

We will present our works on twinspace and on facebook where people can vote the best pixel art masterpiece! All the code and drawings  created will be collected in an e-book.

If you want to inspire your students, have a look at this link:

In the materials/file section of the twinspace, in the folder ‘0_Codeweek’, you can find three  Howto_code_pixelart documents that will help you to organize your lessons’ plan and will give some instructions on how to write the pixel art code.

The pixel drawing difficult can be graduated according to the age and the skill of your students.

Add your event in the EU Code Week map, so that we’ll be able to earn the Certificate of Excellence in Coding Literacy by the European Commission. For doing this, have a look at the document ‘Howto_add_codeweek_event’ in the materials/file section of the twinspace, in the folder ‘0_Codeweek’.

When you add the event, remember to insert the unique Codeweek4all code!

At the end of the Code Week, all the inserted event must be reported (an Howto document will be uploaded in the material section) and you’ll be able to download the participation certificates for your students.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you need some help!
