TOPIC: CELEBRITIES
In December, we had the topic CELEBRITIES. Two hard-working students in the 5th grade (11-year olds), Vuk Jovanovic and Neven Rasevic, presented four celebrities on a poster. They gave an oral presentation to the class, asked them comprehension questions and conducted a quiz. The students enjoyed and were very active during the whole lesson. We watched a video of a celebrity, a YouTuber, in the final stage of the lesson.
In this way students practice speaking skills, listening skills and competencies needed for successful oral presentation. While the boys were presenting, the teacher asked them a few questions regarding some terms they used, like 'subscribe'. They had to give an explanation in English.
We all had fun and learned something.
