  • Engaging Company Online Meetings Behind The Scenes

    • On 17 December 2020, the members of the coordinator’s team, Julia Stefanova and Anastassia Miteva, conducted a zoom meeting with the Istanbul team. The purpose of the online meeting was to discuss the lesson plans the Mobil school teachers had prepared earlier on the basis of the innovative method of English language teaching. The coordinators made remarks and recommendations during the detailed discussion of one particular lesson on the topic “Famous People”. The teachers committed themselves to revising the lesson plans and uploading them on TwinSpace.
    • On 29 December 2020, the coordinators, Julia Stefanova, Anastassia Miteva, Kristina Petkova, organized another zoom meeting. Taking part in it were: Serkan Tekguzel, Nana Saginashvili, and Marc Jongen. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the project activities planned for 2021. The attendees agreed that it was impossible to test the prepared lessons on students and other colleagues, since the schools were still closed. It was necessary to think of ways to adapt the lessons to online teaching and learning. The other item on the agenda was the summer camp /C2/ planned for July 2021.  The attendees discussed various options to hold the event. However, because of the uncertainty of the situation, no final decision was made. It was agreed to postpone the discussion for a later date. The next zoom meeting was scheduled for 25 March 2021.
    • On March 25, 2021, the project coordinators organized a Zoom meeting with all partners to discuss upcoming activities in the context of the Covid pandemic. The agenda included the following items: use of online platforms of teaching and learning; online application of  methods from non-formal education; involvement of regional departments of education in the online implementation and dissemination of the project; C2. Attending the meeting were: Julia Stefanova, Anastassia Miteva, Kristina Petkova (coordinators); Serkan Tekguzel, Sezen Cetin, Serkan Aslantash, Esat Hieroglu (Turkey); Nana Saginashvili  and Marc Jongen (Maastricht); John Portelli (Malta); Tzvetanka  Stoyanova, Natasha Krumova, Iliyana Todorova, Irena Vodova ( Vidin).  Julia  briefly described the project activities remaining before the conclusion of the project. Tzvetanka  introduced the Teams platform to the partners. Nana and Marc demonstrated  energizers and icebreakers adapted for online use. Anastassia opened the discussion of C2 in terms of format (virtual or hybrid), dates, number of participants, dates etc. John Portelli proposed  to  extend the project by another year in view of the ongoing pandemic. It was decided to consult  the National Agency about such a possibility.  
    • On  10 May 2021, the project coordinators held another Zoom meeting with all partners. Taking part in the meeting were: Julia Stefanova, Anastassia Miteva, Kristina Petkova from the coordinating team; Tzvetanka Stoyanova from Simeon Veliki Secondary School in Vidin; Irena Vodova from the Regional Department of Education in Vidin; Serkan Tekguzel from Imam Hatip School in Istanbul; John Portelli from La Salle College in Malta; Nana Saginashvili and Mark Jongen from SIYB, Maastricht. The meeting followed the agenda the coordinators had sent in advance to all partners. The main focus of the discussion was the organization of  the summer event (C2) scheduled to take  place in June 2021. Dissemination of project activities and results was another important item on the agenda. The discussion was productive and resulted in the following decisions:

    • Because of the ongoing  Covid pandemic the C2 event will be held online on 21-25 June, 2021 using TEAMs platform;
    • Each school will select 12 students and 4 teachers to participate in the event;
    • The program  will be put together in the next two weeks and will rely on creative suggestions from all partners.

    Re dissemination, the participants reviewed  the activities that had been accomplished so far, e.g. uploading materials on TwinSpace, online lesson presentations  and video recordings, etc. Irena Vodova from RDE ,Vidin, informed that there would be an online presentation of an English language  lesson on May 17 at 3:00 pm addressed to teachers of English from  the region.

     

    It was decided to have another Zoom meeting at the end of May to discuss the final version of the C2 program.

    • On 16 June 2021, another meeting was held on the Teams platform devoted exclusively to C2. The final program prepared by the coordinators, including accompanying documentation, had been  been shared in advance with the partners on Google drive.   Attending the meeting were: Julia Stefanova, Anastassia Miteva, Kristina Petkova; Serkan Tekguzel, Nurcan Keskin, Sezen Cetin, Savas Ozkaya;  John Portelli; Nana Saginashvili, Marc Jongen; Tzvetanka Todorova, Irena Yosifova. The participants discussed questions regarding the day-to-day schedule of the program, number and names of  participants, sessions and presentations, communication between organizers, back-up plan, evaluation, photos, etc.
    • On 20 August 2021 Julia Stefanova, Anastassia Miteva and Tzvetanka Todorova met on zoom to upload materials on TwinSpace and to discuss the upcoming 4th transnational meeting and the finilizing of the materials to be included in the Toolkit.
