OSTIA  ANTICA, a jewel in the area of Rome, was once a florent city. Abandoned when the Tiber River moved south, it has recently been restored and open to the public.

Though much remain to be done and large areas are still to be dug and restored, it is a wonderful site, which has asked for the UNESCO recognition.
