Our Favourite Places

We live in Turkey, Eskişehir. Some of our favourite places in Eskişehir include Odunpazarı Houses, Wax Museum, Glass Museum, Hot Baths and Spas, Seyitgazi Cerevansarai, Kurşunlu Mosque and Külliye, Yazılıkaya, Porsuk Creek, Eskişehir Boron and Ethnography Museum, Eskişehir Arceology Museum and so on. We’d like to introduce those places to you.

Wax Museum

Eskişehir Wax Museum is the only example of a wax museum, similar to Madam Tussaud's, in Turkey. There are way over 200 statues of different known people. The statues are made by Yılmaz Büyükerşen, who's also the mayor of Eskişehir, and his students. The museum opened in 2013 with only Büyükerşen's work and then improved over time. It's located near the Glass Museum and only max. fifteen minutes away from anywhere in the city centre, by foot.

Our Town

Porsuk Brook

Porsuk is Eskişehir's watercourse. It's 488 meters and ducks, fishes, seaweeds lives in it. It's water isn't suitable for drinking and greenish. You can see Porsuk in diffrent places in Eskişehir. For example there is a park named Kanlıkavak which includes Porsuk. Also there is a touristic street, Adalar. Many people takes photos in Adalar with Porsuk.

Meerschaum Gallery

Meerschaum is too famous and beautiful ornamental stone in Eskişehir. Meerschaum is the symbol of Eskişehir because it is the only region to be taken in the world. Too beautiful ornaments are make with meerschaums by master men and master women. There are lots of things made with Meerschaum in the gallery. The gallery opened in 2008 by Odunpazarı municipality. It's in the Odunpazarı. Also login free.

river Elsa

My favourite place in Colle di Val d’Elsa is river Elsa.
It is a beautiful small river with a lovely shade of blue and green. It flows through forests, fields and gardens, and flows into Arno river. It gives our town its name.

Piazza Arnolfo di Cambio

We live in Colle di Val d'Elsa.
Our favourite place is Piazza Arnolfo di Cambio.
It is a famous square in Colle, the heart of the city.
There is a very beautiful fountain.

Pisa

We live in Colle di Val d'Elsa.
Our favourite place in Tuscany is Pisa.
Pisa is a great city in our area.
It is near the coast of Mar Tirreno.

PORTA NOVA

My favuorite place in Colle di Val d’Elsa is “PORTA NOVA”.
It is one of the gates that allowed access to the medieval village of Colle di Val d'Elsa.
Formerly Colle was surrounded by walls that remained intact till now.
It’s a beautiful monument and it’s near our school.

Florence and its art

My favourite painting is La Nascita di Venere of Sandro Botticelli. It's in Florence, at Uffizi Museum. It's so beautifull!

My favourite place in our area is Florence. My favourite painting is Botticelli's Primavera (spring) it's in the Uffizi museum. The primavera rapresent the beauty of Renaissance. It's very beautiful and there are many details. There are many characters: Venere, Mercurio, Cupido, Zefilo, Flora and three Ninfe.

The Cassero in Poggibonsi

Our city, called Poggibonsi, is situated in Val D’Elsa, between Siena and Florence. The Fortress with its Cassero is one of the most important place. It is the area where POGGIO BONIZIO was located. It was destroyed by Florence in 1270. Many of the ruins were found years later and some pieces of the ancient everyday life can be seen today in a fantastic archaelogical park.

San Lucchese Cathedral

From the Fountain of the Fairies in Poggibonsi you can see can see the church of San Lucchese. It's about 500 m far from the fountain. There are many important works of art inside the church, made by important artists such as Giovanni Di Bartolo, Giovanni Della Robbia and Memmo di Filippuccio. Every year we celebrate San Lucchese's day on 28 April. There's a fair and there are fireworks. AWESOME!

Via Maestra

The Main Street of Poggibonsi is Repubblica Street, or Via Maestra as the people of Poggibonsi know it. It is our favourite place. We love walking up and down at the weekends and sometimes eating an ice cream, a sandwich or some pizza.

La Fonte delle Fate

My favourite place in Poggibonsi is the fountain of the fairies. It’s a magical place. The only fountain saved going back to the Middle Age.
If you close your eyes, you’ll go back in time!!!
This ruin is surrounded by a fantastic green park with a pond full of birds
and turtles.
When you go to the fountain, you feel like being on an island of relax, where
you can rediscover the history and the peace of nature.
There is a statue inside the monument. It’s the Sleepers that represents
crocodiles and men sleeping such a deep sleep that looks like death.

Dream Castle

It's my favorite place in Eskişehir. It's "Dream Castle". It has impressive appearance. It's towers are copied from most famous Turkish-made towers like "Kız Kulesi, Galata Kulesi..." It has amazing fairytales. It has more than 15 fairytales.

Ephesus Ancient City/Izmir

Efes, and Ephesus in Greek, was an ancient city in Greece. Presently it is located in Selcuk İzmir Province, Turkey. Ancient city was constructed in 10th century by colonists of the age. In the vicinity of the area, there is a famous destination called Temple of Artemis. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, in this sense it is an important cultural heritage and a popular touristic and historical place.

YAZILIKAYA

WHAT IS YAZILIKAYA
There are two places, paramount from the historical point of view, bearing the same name - Yazılıkaya - in the area of Turkey. Not surprisingly, as in Turkish this word means 'inscribed rock' and thus perfectly reflects the character of all the monuments that were created by carving inscriptions in the rock walls. The monument, which is described here, also has two other names - Midas Kenti (Midas City) and Midas Anıtı (Midas Monument), that distinguish it from the Hittite sanctuary of Yazılıkaya, located in the vicinity of Hattusa, in central Anatolia.

We've great Turkish baths in Eskişehir/Turkey. You can take bath, relax or feel fresh. Also you can enjoy with your friends in private hot tub . You can swim in very hot pools. And it's really popular in Turkey and it's the name of a beautiful street in Eskişehir. People come from other cities for Eskişehir's thermal baths. We're waiting you too.

TURKEY/Yalova-Erikli Çifte Şelale

Yalova-Çınarcık District It is located on the road leading from the Teşvikiye District to the Delmece Plateau. Erikli Waterfalls is a great place for those who want to camp and trekking with their unique natural beauties.

Turkey/Yalova Sudüşen Şelalesi

Sudüşen Waterfall and its surroundings, which are 8 km away from Üvezpınar Village of Termal District, offer a magnificent feast for nature lovers. The road to the waterfall is a comfortable and natural hiking trail and is preferred by local and foreign tourists during the summer months. A unique dam lake, a view of the Sea of Marmara and a wide variety of forest fauna is encountered, which is used as a photo safari, hiking and picnic area. Panorama hill from the sea 120 m. It is an area with very beautiful views at height and covered with green vegetation in all seasons.

Users coming from Yalova direction, following the route of Cinarcik, Tesvikiye, Armutlu, Gemlik; The users coming from the direction of Bursa can reach the city forest from the direction of Hayriye, Selimiye villages and Delmece plateau where the road is paved. The large bottomless lake located at an altitude of 530 meters at a distance of 2.5 meters from the city forest and the rich forest flora and wildlife in the seven lakes region at an altitude of 570 meters at an altitude of 1,5 km from the lake are unmistakable.

Via Maestra in Poggibonsi

Poggibonsi is a nice town in the centre of the Valdelsa Valley, in Tuscany, central Italy near Siena and Florence. The place I prefer in my town is Via Maestra, a street in the centre of the town. I usually meet my friends there and we spend our free time all together. There are a lot of shops: clothes shops, shoes shops, pubs, restaurants and two chemists'. There is also “ The Ventaglio”, an excellent ice-cream shop.On Saturday and Sunday afternoon many families bring their children to have a nice walk, or to enjoy their time with friends. At the top of the street there is a square where you can see the Town Hall and a beautiful church. I live near this place.
