A formal meditation all together

  • Formal meditation all together

Meditation may appear to be a solitary pursuit, but many benefits come from doing it with others.

Meditating together teaches how mindfulness and meditation are accessible to all who are looking to attain inner peace and happiness in their day-to-day lives.

The simple thought we’re in this together makes it a human, communal thing, rather than an abstract internal pursuit.

There will be three same formal meditations. The pupils will be divided into three international groups. Groups A, groups B and groups C.
Every group will read the meditation during a videoconference.
The pupils will write the following parts of the body -keywords for the meditation - on a big poster or a board:
right foot, left foot, right knee, left knee, right tight, left tight, right leg, left leg, hipbone, belly, stomach, heart, right hand, left hand, right elbow, left elbow, right arm, left arm, right shoulder, left shoulder, neck, tongue, teeth, mouth, nose, eyes, brain.
Each class will practice the meditation before the online meeting.
During the meditation, we will stay in a circle.
A student will read a dedication.  Dedications could be divided into two wishes, one to wish the meditation will help to study well, and one to wish the meditation will help to stay together well.
A teacher will explain that we have to stay in a comfortable-composed-dignified position, take the eyes open but just to read on the board/poster.
The first student of group A will begin to read the first sentence than another student will continue with the second one and so on.
Stillness in our “right foot”, peace in our “right foot”, energy in our “right foot”
Every following student will say the same sentence but changing the part of the body.
    Students have to speak loud.
After each student has read a sentence, a teacher will ring a Tibetan bell/bowl twice or three times, and everyone has to focus onto that body part.
The bell/bowl sound generates waves that reach our part of the body (it’s Science, Physics, not magic)
When all the pupils of all groups have finished, there will be the final greeting
All together: may you be happy
...and then what students want to say
