First meeting in Turkey (nov 2018)

  • The first work session of an international Erasmus+ project Dreamers Beyond Borders was held in Turkey in Istanbul at vocational high school Sehit Serife Baci on 5 November.

Each country was represented by 3 or 4 teachers including some head masters. A large team that already had some experience in participating in such international projects gathered in one place.
The vision of this project emerged when watching a video clip. The main coordinator of this project, Vincent Samuel, thought of an idea to unite different partners in order to launch a new project called Dreamers Beyond Borders.

So the work session began with a review of a video clip.

Dreamers Beyond Borders is a 2 year project focusing on the migrant issues which have become very crucial lately in the whole Europe.

Participation in this project is expected to promote the diversity of foreign languages, to develop the competencies required in the modern labour market, tolerance and integration for people of other cultures.

A welcoming speech was presented by the headmaster Kadir Pakirdas, who was glad that the meeting of all the participants of such an important project was held at his school and wished all the best during work session.
Each team had to present their country, school and the members of the project. Vincent Samuel, a representative of the coordinators of DBB project, introduced the participants with its content, goals, objectives and financial management. In addition, each school had to present their situation of migrants as well as the main problems related with migration.
