In this part the students read literary books and concentrate about  the qualities of the characters wich it characterized them as the national heroes.

3rd Primary School of Serres

PETER'S LONG WALK

The book, the Greek students from Serres have read in class, is called PETER'S LONG WALK and it is about a boy who participated in the Resistance against the Germans, during the 2nd World War. A little hero!

The students of the class have created a power point presentation for this young boy, who is presented by the author as an ordinary boy, who became an every day hero.

The photos in the ppt are from the theatrical play which our school attended in the National Theater of Thessaloniki, in April 2019.

"This book made me feel I want to be like Peter. Peter was a normal boy, but he was brave and he helped Greece at the difficult times of the war." (George,10 years old)

"After we read the book in the class, we went as a school to Thessaloniki and we saw Peter's Long Walk as a theatrical play. It was fantastic! When Peter's friend died,I wanted to cry"  (Alexandra,10 years old) 

"I liked Antigoni, Peter's sister, as a character. She was  in the Resistance with all the other children. She was a heroine!" (Phedra, 11 years old)

1st Kindergarteen of N. Redestos

Students brought at school their favourite books. They talked to class about the hero of each book!

We discussed with the kids about their heroes. They concluded that all the heroes are clever, carry about and help the others, get into troubles but at the end they manage reach their target without harming anybody.

Litterary heroes are very much alike the national heroes presentd or the heroes of today!
