The “Athénée Royal de Rixensart - Wavre” in Belgium is an official school that covers early childhood education up to the end of secondary school. We also have a boarding school for the young girls.

There are more than 910 students in the secondary school and more than 700 pupils in primary school. The staff includes 123 teachers. Our school has 2 locations in the area: Rixensart and Wavre.

In secondary school, we have different options : Acting, arts, languages( French, Dutch, English and Spanish) , Mathematics-Sciences, Social Science and Economic Sciences.

This project concerns arts students. They are between 16 to 19 years old. Our artistic section is well known for its involvement in contemporary art. Our students are generally destined to pursue higher studies in arts (architecture, fashion design, illustration, cinema ...) Our school teaches artistic subjects like art history (2h), scientific design(1h), forms-colors-materials (5h) and drawing from nature (2h). Our students (16 to 19 years old) produce paintings, drawings, photographs, … or all the necessary techniques to express their ideas.

It’s the first experience for us to participate in a European program. The objective is, of course, to open up the cultural horizons of the students at a European level and strengthen their communication in foreign languages. The diversity we will meet will enable our students to become aware of their position in Europe, to be open to social and cultural differences between the participating countries. This will help them take initiatives to adapt, integrate into a foreign group, understand the other and be active in their training.
