Parents and Guardians of CBS Pupils Take Part in hugely successful Mindfulness/Mental Health Awareness Workshop!
Back in February, just before the global CoVid pandemic hit, our parents took part in a fabulous and very interactive workshop in school delivered by 'AB Coaching' and funded by our #HHL1820 project. Here are some of the highlights from the event;
1. Firstly, we received a promotional video explaining what the event would entail.
2. Next we shared invites to our parents/guardians.
3. And then the event itself! Attended by over 20 parents/guardians, all of whom gave resoundingly positive feedback, the 2hour long workshop was delivered expertly by AB Coaching.
4. The next stage of our plan was to deliver this course to over 234 of our KS2 pupils across 6 separate sessions in school but CoVid put a stop to that. Hopefully, as part of our project extension, we may be able to (CoVid restrictions adhered to!) run this event soon!
Exploring Our Emotions in Books - Pupil Workshop
Our P3/R3 and P4/R4 pupils enjoyed a fabulous literacy workshop where they used the story of 'Rita agus an Dragan' by Máire Zeyph, to help them explore their emotions including happiness, frustrustation, anger and many many others.
We were additionally delighted to have Máire herself, the award winning author, come in to school and deliver the workshops. She finished the day off by speaking with the Parents and Guardians about how they could help pupils to understand their emotions through Reading at home! An amazing event altogether and all thanks to the #HHL1820 project!
LSC/ASD Class Attend Horse-Riding Lessons
We are extremely proud of our school and how we ensure that every pupil is included in all that we do. In order to help the pupils of our ASD/LSC class learn about their emotions and to help them build empathy and improved social skills, we planning a series of horse-riding lessons for our pupils, thanks to help from the #HHL1820 project team.
