Chapter 1: Who's Lily?

Lily is a beautiful white stork who loves to travel and collect postcards of all the places she visits. She lives in Poggiomarino in Italy and teaches children in kindergartens to be citizens of the world, telling beautiful stories about who she met and about what she saw and discovered in other countries. Many years ago his grandparents settled in Poggiomarino because the territory was all swampy and they loved to wallow in so much water in search of food. Think that here men lived on stilt houses, that is, the houses that were built above the water and these they can still be admired in the stupendous archeo-fluvial site of Longola.
Poggiomarino is now a beautiful village and is located at the foot of Vesuvius, a verdant volcano that dominates the Gulf of Naples. In Naples, a city in southern Italy rich in history and beauties, a postcard jealously guarded by it, Lily loves eating pizza and having fun making jokes with her friend Pulcinella, a very funny character who often tells stories that are also frightening. Once time, for example, he told Lily that a long time ago, an eruption of Vesuvius completely destroyed Pompeii, a country created by the Romans near Poggiomarino and that the Volcano is still active, that is, it can "erupt" and leave its peak, to smoke hot gases or that boiling substances that come from the center of the earth like lava. But Lily knows she must not be afraid because scholars, fortunately, today continuously control the volcano to avoid damage. In addition she often loves scrambling through the fascinating archaeological remains of Pompeii to talk with tourists who come from far to visit them. Lily, is very talkative and in his travels he often talks about his country and has collected in this book the stories about the friends he has met and about the fantastic things he has discovered around the world.

POLAND1:

Chapter 2: A new friend

One day in our kindergarten in Szemud there was a new mascot of Lily the White Stork.Everyone in our kindergarten was wondering where it came from. It turned out that he is a traveler visiting various kindergartens in various snacks of the world. This time he came to us in a kindergarten in Szemud. He wanted to get to know us and our region. He only came to us for a few days, so he did not have much time to explore. On the first day we decided to take a walk around the area. Lily the White Stork was delighted because we saw forests, fields and a lake. The weather was good, so we went for a picnic in the clearing. Cooks from kindergarten prepared us delicious waffles, pancakes and compote...Lily the White Stork. he ate so much that his belly was very big. On the second day we went on a trip to Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. In Gdansk, we showed our friends the Neptune Fountain, Oliwa Park, we visited the Amber Museum. In Sopot, we went for a walk to the longest pier in Poland, and in Gdynia we visited the Experyment Science Center and the Gdynia Aquarium. In the afternoon we went to the beaches in Gdynia, where we built sand castles. At the end of the day we took the airport to Gdańsk, from where it flew by plane to the next place, where he had to visit new kindergartens and meet new friends.

SPAIN: 

Chapter 3: Spring is here.

As every year at the end of January we can see the Storks flying above our city Tudela. We welcome them, in Tudela we love storks and we don't like people who want to damage them. Storks love making nest high up the church's towers. This year it was a bit special. Lola, the cow, and Ferdinand, the bull, were waiting for their friend, Lily. Moo, said Lola and Ferdinand stopped eating the grass and looked at the sky. Lily the traveller stork was making her nest high up the old chimney of an ancient sugar factory. From there Lily had the most beautiful views of the city. In front of her,  "Bardenas Reales" a desert next to the river Ebro and the bridge over the biggest river of Spain. Turning to the left, she could admire the cathedral and the palaces. Lola and Ferdinand felt exciting, they hardly could wait to receive the visit of their friend Lily. When Lily came to Huertas Mayores School Lola gave her an artichoke and Ferdinand the bull, an asparragus. Bye, bye Lily! Come back, soon!! 

CROATIA:

Chapter 4 : Lily and Bo

Spring is coming, with it migratory birds are returning from warmer places. Children from  Ivanić Grad kindergaten are very excited. They have received postcard from Lily the white stork. She is travelling through Europe wanting to know new people and places.One day children went to Žutica forest to have a picnic. The Forest Žutica is very rich with natural resources and animal life. In that forest lives Beaver Bo , he is endangered species.Children have arrived to the beaver Bo s house. They have found him in cheerful conversation with his new friend Lily. Children were excited,:Lily had arrived.They have taken Lily and Bo to the town Ivanić – Grad, so that Lily could get to know their town. While they were traveling to the town Bo was telling Lily about rich history and culture of Ivanić – Grad. Lily was thrilled with the story about Ivanić Fort. She was happy to see lots of chimneys through town, where have been nests for storks. She realized that citizens of Ivanić – Grad are taking care of nature and their inhabitants.Children have taken Lily on a tour through the old part of the town. She saw little , old , wooden houses held stories about the towns  long and rich history. On their way to  Ivanić Grad kindergarten Lily saw St. Peter Church,  the City hall,the  old firehouse and beautiful city park. In the Ivanić – Grad Museum, Lily got to know a little more about  Ivanić – Grad s history.They went for a walk by the river Lonja and then arrived in front of the Naftalan  Health Centar.The next day they travelled by train to Zagreb,the capital city of Croatia which is near Ivanić -  Grad. There they saw lot s of cultural and historical sights : ST. Marks Square , Maksimir Park, Gradec, Art Pavilion, Croatian National Theatre and   Medvednica mountain, which is near Zagreb. Lily was very excited because she can now tell  other children in Europe a lot about Croatia. The children and beaver Bo  filled Lily s suitcase with postcards and souvenirs, so that Lily can show them to children in Europe.In Zagreb, they put Lily on a plane so she could go on a  new adventure getting to knew Europe.Goodbye Lily ! POLAND 2 (Kamila)

Chapter:5   Hungry Lily

One sunny day, preschoolers  from Dąbrowa Chełmińska were on the playground. Suddenly in the sky we saw white stork returned from abroad to our country. We were joy-filled because it means that spring is coming. But…it wasn’t a normal stork…she landed very, very close to us…and gave us a black bag. Inside, we found a postcards, photos, coloring books from very different place. It was wonderful!. Then a stork told us about yourself. It turned out that a she came from ITALY and it is called Lily. She loves travel around the world and visit various kindergartens. Lily  told that she visited Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot and another places like Žutica forest,  Zagreb in Croatia, Tudela (Spain). When she visited this beautiful places she did suddenly hungry. Then she felt wonderful scent….Something like cinnamon or maybe ginger! Her stomach growled! She decided to follow a scent. She flew and flew until she landed in our kindergarten! I said to Lily: “Very well composed because you are near Toruń: city of gingerbreads! This smell came from it”. Children gave Lily gingerbread baked on Christmas. In Poland we have a tradition to bake it and (if you wish) stored for later. Here we even have a saying: “the older the better gingerbread“. Lily ate all cookies so we decided to give her a recipe for a gingerbreads.  She decided some rest, so we prepared special place for her: the nestJ.  Children told Lily also about great scholar - Mikołaj Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus). He was born in Toruń. This astronomer discovered that The Earth goes round the Sun. Torun is a unique place where you can watch the stars during the session, named PLANETARIUM. Moreover, we can visit beautiful Old Town where you can admire the statue of Copernicus. Furthermore, you can visit Ethnographic Park where you can learn how people once lived in Poland.  Lily, the white stork, was impressed with our regional traditions and landmarks… but most tasted the gingerbreads. With a full stomach Lily, a white stork, flew away to visit another kindergartens! See you soon.

POLAND 3 
Chapter 6: We're having a good time

It's March. Storks from warm countries have just started coming to us. Between them was Lili's stork. When she arrived at our kindergarten in Poland in Koźle on Filtrowa Street, we invited her to visit the monuments of our city. We started with a tower in which there is a museum. We told her about the story of three goat brothers who were plundering and killing for money. Fortunately, the city butcher- Jakub knew the secret passages to their castle, and together with the knights of Prince Mieszko I, called the "Plątonogi", who ruled then in Koźle, defeated the robbers. They were thrown into the Odra River flowing through our town, the second largest river in Poland. Lili also looked at the historic lock and many historic, old oaks growing in our city. We visited the city park, whose shape from a bird's eye looks like a star. We also went to the city market, where there is a fountain, a sundial and our favorite library. We came back to the kindergarten dinner, where the chefs served us noodles and dessert - fried apples filled with jam and coconut - you eat a delicacy. After a tasty meal we went to the volleyball match of our urban team ZAKSA S.A., which took place in the sports hall in Azoty - Kędzierzyn-Koźle district. At the end Lili played with us in the playground at the kindergarten and flew away to visit other cities.
