Springfield Primary School is located in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. There are approximately 420 children in our school who range from 4-11 years old. There are 14 classrooms, each is taught by a teacher who is with that class for a whole year and all lessons are taught by the same teacher. In the mornings, each class also has a teaching assistant who helps the teacher, reads with individual children and supports groups of children with their work.

Our school year is about 190 days. We start the school year at the beginning of September and finish towards the end of July. We have a week off at the end of October, two weeks off for Christmas, a week off in the middle of Feburary, two weeks off for Easter, a week off at the end of May and six weeks off during the summer. We also have an additional five days which are 'non-pupil days'. These days are set aside for teacher training or other activities such as report writing.
