STEREOTYPES ABOUT THE ITALIAN

  • 1. Italian love flirting and they are latin lovers.

The stereotype is above all about males. There is a bit true, but we think all males in Europe can be interested by beautiful girls. European people go to Italy for Holidays, so Italian men can meet foreign girls and fall in love. Summer and sun can help!! In Italy there is a large number of women married with italian men. They met their husband during holidays.

About romanticism... Italy with its landscapes is perhaps more romantic than other countries, and  Casanova  lived here... in Venice, the most romantic town in the world.

2 Family is very important for Italians. True. We meet often with our family, and we love family. Young people sometimes live with parents. It happens when young people don't find wife or husband (it is easier live with mom and dad) ot it happens because they don't find a job, so they need family's help. Families are bigger in southern Italy and smaller in northern Italy, but all Italians love their family very much

    3. Italians drive big cars. Not true.

Italians drive normal cars, only rich people can buy expensive and luxurious cars.  Normally Italians buy cheaper cars, some years ago they loved Fiat cars, but now they buy cars from other countries too. Ferrari is a dream but only very rich people can buy Ferrari or Maserati cars.

    4.  Italians eat pasta and pizza. Italians have wonderful food.

True, true, true!! We love pasta and pizza, we eat them almost every day.

But we have lots of foods, not only pizza and pasta: every region has its traditional food: meat, fish, vegetables. European agency for food is in Parma city, Italy. It is because food is very important for Italian people.
